The company’s founders are publishing veterans with many years’ experience between them in sales, marketing, publicity, commissioning, editing and programming literary events. We have had careers with publishing firms large and small, but it’s the ethos of ‘boutique’, independent houses that attract us most. There is nothing quite so satisfying as helping talented and enthusiastic authors who have been overlooked by the traditional publishing industry to gain traction for their work.

We have spent the time since then developing our vision for a wide range of titles to publish over the next few years, beginning with the stories in The Paper + Ink Little Book Club and continuing with several other series of short, attractive and affordable books.

Building on long-standing relationships with designers, typesetters, printers and other key “book people”, as well as placing all emphasis on providing excellent value with a clear view to sustaining it over years to come. In addition to more short fiction from some of the world’s most acclaimed writers, Paper + Ink is developing new series showcasing short stories in translation for the first time; poetry; essays; journalism; travel writing; and much more.
